She was devoted to our father, Hank Brennan and was the joy of his life. Christopher and I can attest to her absolute brilliance as a mother. But family aside, you, this assembly of extraordinary friends, are her greatest work.
We have tried to make this event something Fanny herself might have done, and would enjoy. And she would say “Enough from the podium now.” She would have been thrilled to see you all here. So I’ll close by thanking you so much for coming to help us celebrate Fanny’s life on her birthday and some of you have come from very far away.
We invite you downstairs for drinks, to see a small show of her paintings that spans her entire career, and to partake in the ritual that we have come to call, since her death, Healing through Canapés. Thank you.

Fanny Brennan, Sturdust, hand-crafted lithograph.
